An impressionable lad
Easily led astray by greed
So anointed with birth royally
Imbecility manifested forthrightly
Gambled family fortunes flamboyantly
Unburdened by sweet dreams of poignancy
Never wary of making merry with false loyalty
The little prince who could someday be king
So swindled by his courtiers shamelessly
Denounced him a prickly pharisee
His neck did the guillotine seek
On a forgotten Yuletide eve
Snatched from his grasp
The thorny crown
So collapsed
